Chocolate Macaroon Bars

I salivate just remembering how indulgently aromatic they turned out…gotta make some more!

Ingredients:

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • 1/3 C. butter
  • 2 eggs, divided
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 C. chocolate chips
  • 1 1/3 C. flaked coconut
  • 1/2 C. chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a bowl, mix cake mix, butter, and 1 egg until crumbly. Firmly press evenly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. Stir together sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and the other remaining egg. Add in chocolate chips, 1 C. coconut, and walnuts. Spread over chocolate cake mixture in the pan.
  4. Sprinkle the last 1/3 C. coconut on top.
  5. Cook for 30-40 minutes, or until  golden brown (center will set when cooled).
  6. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
