Just to let you know, I’ve never actually tasted any Chicken Tikka Masala before attempting this recipe, so I don’t know what Chicken Tikka Masala is supposed to taste like, but this recipe was delicious and so flavorful!

[Note: According to Justin’s comment in the comment section of this post, if you want to make Tikka Masala correctly, you should include a little Garam Masala spice to the recipe.]

Ingredients:

  • 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thawed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 6 oz. plain yogurt (I used Greek yogurt)
  • 4 tsp. ground cumin
  • 2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. paprika
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 C. cream (I used Half and Half)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
Instructions:
Throw all the ingredients into a crock pot and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until chicken is cooked thoroughly. Yep, that easy!
Serving Suggestion: Serve over steamed rice, with Indian flatbread, like Naan or Roti, and sliced cucumbers and/or grapes.
