Ingredients:
- 1 C. Jasmine rice
- about 1/4 onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (chopped)
- 2 Tbsp. Canola oil
- 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
- 2 C. water
Instructions:
- Lightly brown rice, onions, and garlic in the oil in a frying pan on medium-high heat.
- Add the tomato sauce.
- Put mixture in a pot with the water and bring to a boil.
- Once it starts boiling, put a fitting lid on top and bring to a simmer for 10 or 11 minutes.
- Remove from heat and keep the lid on until you are ready to serve the rice.
Spanish rice goes great in a burrito or “softada“!
