Enjoy this easy Chinese sesame chicken recipe served with rice and steamed veggies!

Ingredients:

  • 5 boneless skinless chicken breast or thigh halves
  • 1/2 C. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • a dash of sesame oil
  • 1 c. water
  • 2-3 Tbsp. corn starch
  • 1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Cook the chicken thoroughly. (I usually use frozen chicken, so boiling works well for me. )
  2. In a bowl, combine sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, water, corn starch, and ground ginger. Mix until there aren’t any clumps. Pour mixture into a saucepan on medium-high heat. Stir every minute or so. It will begin to thicken when it starts boiling. Once it thickens, turn heat down to a simmer.
  3. Cut chicken into however small or big you want the pieces to be and put in the pan with the sauce. Flip them over so they are all smothered in the sauce. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  4. Serve warm over rice and maybe some steamed vegetables on the side.
