One healthy eating habit is to add nutritious food items to a maybe not so nutritious meal.
Whenever we are stocked with a new pack of graham crackers, my son asks for “graham crackers with milk” each morning until we run out of graham crackers again.
Once they’re out, he’ll go back to eating oatmeal for breakfast.
We have a little bag of Flaxseed Meal and a little bag of Almond Meal I got from Trader Joes, and we usually sprinkle some of each on top of the graham crackers and then pour a little milk on top and mix it up a bit. This tastes great and with the flax seed and almond meal, it’s a little more nutritious than it would be otherwise. More fiber. More protein. More Iron, Calcium, and healthy Omega-3 fatty acids.
Flaxseed meal and almond meal can also be sprinkled on top of cold cereal, warm cereal, or you can add a little to baked goods like THESE yummy looking muffins.
