Wanting to make chicken, I looked around for some sauces and saw the mustard (which we’ve only used for hot dogs!). Getting adventurous, I used the mustard and it added a great flavor and zing to the chicken without overpowering the natural yumminess of the chicken flavor. It was perfect!
Ingredients:
- 1 chicken breast
- water
- 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp. mustard
- 1 tsp. turmeric
- 1 tsp. thyme
Instructions:
- Put the chicken in a pan and add water so that it covers about 1/2 the height of the chicken. It goes faster if you cut the chicken breast into two or four small, even pieces. Bring to a boil, and then cook on medium-high heat until chicken is thoroughly cooked and juices run clear.
- Poke each piece of chicken with a fork on both sides (to help the flavor soak in).
- Drain excess water in the pan. It’s okay to have a little bit of water left in there to help make the sauce.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, mustard, turmeric, and thyme.
- Spread over chicken and mix so that each piece of chicken has a nice yellow color.
Yields about 2 servings.
This juicy mustard chicken goes great with fried rice!
