If you are looking for a quick, warm, yummy lunch or dinner, try these grilled tuna sandwiches!
Ingredients (yielding 2 sandwiches):
- 4 slices of bread
- 1 can tuna (drain out the water)
- about 2 or 3 Tbsp. mayonnaise (start out with less and add more if you think it’s too dry)
- optional: cheddar cheese
- about 1 tsp. butter or margarine
Instructions:
- Mix drained tuna with mayonnaise in a smallish-sized bowl (like a cereal bowl).
- Lightly butter one side of each piece of bread.
- Spread tuna on two of the pieces of bread (not on the sides with the butter.) and sprinkle some cheese on top of the tuna spread.
- Close the sandwiches so that the buttered sides of the bread or all on the outside.
- Cook each side of the sandwich on medium heat until golden brown and crispy.
Fresh fruit or melon complement these tuna sandwiches very well!
