This delicious strawberry compote is a favorite at our house! It goes well with so many things, and is easy to make in your own kitchen!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pint strawberries, washed and stems removed
  • about 1/4 C. granulated sugar
  • 1-2 tsp. lemon juice
Instructions:
  1. Chop strawberries.
  2. In a saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
  3. Stir and bring to a simmer. Simmer for about 7 minutes, stirring/mashing occasionally.
  4. Let cool a few minutes before eating.
Let cool completely before pouring it into a baggie and sticking it in the freezer if you want to freeze some for later. This strawberry sauce is great to have on hand. You can use it to top ice cream, cakes, pancakes, fruit, or anything (just get creative!). Oh, and try it with one of my favorite no-chocolate dessert recipes, Heavenly Banana Splits with Strawberry Topping. Sooo good!
