This grilled cheese sandwich recipe is healthy, flavorful, and so easy to throw together!
Ingredients (1 sandwich):
- 2 slices whole wheat bread
- about 1 Tbsp. PESTO SAUCE
- about 1/3 of a Roma tomato, chopped
- about 1/8 C. grated Colby Jack cheese
- butter
Instructions:
- Spread pesto sauce on one side of each piece of bread.
- Arrange chopped tomatoes in a single layer on top of the pesto on one slice of bread.
- Sprinkle cheese on top of the tomatoes. Top with the pesto side of the other piece of bread.
- Spread a thin layer of butter over the top piece of bread.
- Cook on medium-low heat, butter side down, until cheese starts to melt or bottom of sandwich gets crispy. Spread a thin layer of butter on the top piece of bread before flipping the sandwich over. Flip the sandwich carefully, and cook the other side until crispy.
Serve with apple slices on the side and enjoy!
Mmm. This one looks good. Is there a way to search the recipes by date or at least see which ones were recently added at a glance? I’ve noticed a few new since last time I’ve gone through all your recipes for ideas. I want to see all the new ones, but I don’t necessarily want to go through all of them again to find them.
