This quick and easy fluffy dinner biscuit recipe without buttermilk will surely impress your family and friends!
Ingredients (makes 12 biscuits):
- 2 C. all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. dried Oregano, crushed
- 1/4 C. shortening
- 1 C. grated cheese (cheddar or Colb
y Jack works great!) - 1 C. milk
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
- Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and Oregano.
- Cut in shortening until texture is crumbly.
- Mix in grated cheese.
- Stir in milk, until there is no more loose, dry flour.
- Scoop (about 1/3 C. each) dough onto a lightly greased baking tray, creating 12 biscuits.
- Bake 10-12 minutes.
